We regularly go to the playground at Volkspark am Weinbergsweg but this was the first time we ventured down to the park area on the lower level and it was a delight.
There is an old lido there but it looks as though it isn't used anymore but nevertheless provides a great safe play area.
There is a lovely looking Swiss cafe called Nola's with a terrace overlooking the park (view below). We didn't eat there but it looked like a promising future lunch venue.
There are peaceful little picnic spots as well as a real suntrap slope.
This is probably the best tended park we have scene so far in Berlin and as most are weedy and scrubby (but with character) it was a refreshing change.
