Berlin Zoo

So after almost a year of living in Berlin, we finally made it to Berlin Zoo and it was a great day out. The Zoo has a lot of animals but feels very manageable to walk around. We were there for almost three hours and saw all the animals we want to (apart from panda, which we couldn't find - answers on a postcard (or in the comment box) as to where they are!)

Some of the enclosures can look a bit cramped for the animals but you do get to see them up close, like this lion above.

There is an amazing playground in the centre of the zoo, close to the main restaurant and gift shop. I like to keep my reviews positive but I will say that next time we go I will take a picnic and avoid the expensive and distinctly average food on sale in the restaurant.

There are maps dotted around the zoo but it is worth buying the zoo guide as it has a map at the back.
You can hire little wooden pull along carts which are great when little legs get tired. We had a great time and will certainly be back - and hopefully see the panda next time!
